Alan Chies was born in Cuneo in 1977 but then moved with his family to Veneto, where his training began. He studies philosophy at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and follows the lessons of Italo Zannier, one of the fathers of the history of photography in Italy. He then moved to Milan. Here he works as an assistant to established photographers, an experience that allows him to develop a completely personal language. His particular use of light, through shadows and blurs, manages to give a sense of poetic introspection to the subject.
